General Catalogue of Writings of People in Qing Dynasty is a major project in the compilation of the history of the Qing Dynasty. It was approved on August 30, 2004 and completed at the end of 2009. The host of the project is Professor Du Zexun, and Mr. Wang Shaozeng is the honorary editor- in- chief.

It is estimated that there will be more than 100, 000 kinds of works written by the people of Qing Dynasty with a length of 8 million words (index included). It is divided into six parts: Confucian classics, history, philosophy, literature, western learning and collection. Each part is divided into several categories, which can be divided into several levels according to the actual situation. The books in the same category are arranged according to the author's life time. The biographical books are arranged in chronological order of the hero or heroine. Geography and local chronicles are arranged by region. Genealogies are arranged according to the strokes of surnames. Tanci and Baojuan are arranged according to the strokes of the title of the book. The title, volume number, author and edition of each book are described. The author is attached with his native place, and the edition is attached with the collection and source. Thus, a large-scale catalogue of historical records can be formed, which can not only reflect the prosperity of Qing people's writings, but also provide convenience for the academia to search for materials.
