On November 28, the Sinology Ceremony for Global Chinese was held in Beijing. A Chronicle of Historiography in 20th Century China edited by Professor Wang Xuedian of the Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, Shandong University, and Collected Textual Criticism on the Book of History Explanatory Notes and Commentaries edited by Professor Du Zexun won the current Sinology Achievement Award for Global Chinese. This is also the first time that our institute has won the honor of two achievements in the same session.

A Chronicle of Historiography in 20th Century China was edited by Professor Wang Xuedian and compiled by Chen Feng, Guo Zhendan and Jiang Meng. It was published by the Commercial Press in 2014. The book is divided into two volumes, 1900-1949 and 1950-2000, with a total of 2 million words. Wang Xuedian's team, with keen academic vision, has precisely positioned itself on the important research topic of "Chinese history in the 20th century". At the beginning of the 20th century, the history of Chinese historiography opened a new era, and "modern Chinese Historiography" has created a new glory in history. The work of historiography chronology for the magnificent 20th century has almost nothing to do before and started from scratch. Wang Xuedian led the team to accumulated 12 years' efforts to complete the project. The book comprehensively reflects the history and general picture of the development of Chinese historiography in the 20th century in terms of chronological genre. It integrates research-based materials, and has the value of philology, academic history and ideological history. It is known as "the major basic project of Chinese historiography research in the 20th century", the "century inventory" of 100 year historiography and "a new sunrise of Chinese Historiography". This achievement has won the first prize of the 30th Excellent Achievement Award of Social Sciences in Shandong Province and the second prize of the 8th Excellent Achievement Award of Scientific Research (HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES) in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education.

Collected Textual Criticism on the Book of History Explanatory Notes and Commentaries was edited by Professor Du Zexun and published by China Publishing House in 2018. This book is based on Beijing Guozijian's Thirteen Classics Explanatory Notes and Commentaries of the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, and uses 18 other school editions to absorb the collation results of 15 former sages, which not only reflects the source of the edition, but also reflects the changing track of the characters in the process of publication. At the same time, it can also see the inheritance relationship of the predecessors' proofreading, which provides a valuable text for the research and use of The Book of History Explanatory Notes and Commentaries. Mr. Xu Jialu, a famous scholar and Dean of the Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, Shandong University, once wrote in a special letter that this achievement must be meritorious in the present age, and the longer it lasts, the more obvious it will be.

The Sinology Ceremony for Global Chinese has been held every two years since 2014. The 4th Sinology Ceremony for Global Chinese continued to be co-hosted by Yuelu Academy, Ifeng.com, and Dunhe Foundation. The winners included translator Xu Yuanchong, historian Xu Zhuoyun, well-known scholar Chen Lai, well-known writer Feng Jicai and other outstanding contributors dedicated to the inheritance, dissemination and protection of Chinese excellent traditional culture. It is reported that this year's ceremony pays more attention to modernization, youthfulness and popularization than previous ones. The organizers hope to create an atmosphere of concern, attention and love for the excellent traditional Chinese culture in the whole society. Mr. Xu Jialu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 9th and 10th National People's Congress, Dean of Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, Shandong University, serves as the general counsel. The expert recommendation committee is composed of 200 to 300 experts and scholars in the field of Chinese traditional culture employed by the representatives of the nine major academic support units and the organizers from home and abroad to jointly select the Lifetime Achievement Award, Achievement Award and Rookie Award. There are 24 academic achievement awards this year. Up to now, a total of 4 achievements of the Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, Shandong University have won this honor. In 2016, the Censor and Annotate of Complete Works of Dufu edited by Professor Xiao Difei and reviewed by Professor Zhang Zhonggang's won the 2nd Sinology Achievement Award for Global Chinese. An Academic Chronicle of the Chinese Classics edited by Professor Zheng Jiewen won the 3rd Sinology Achievement Award for Global Chinese.
