A Global Forum on Confucian Studies is an international academic conference focusing on the studies of Confucianism, jointly established by Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, Shandong University and Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization. Since 2005, A Global Forum on Confucian Studies has been successfully held for 4 times. It has become a high-end platform and an important carrier in the field of Confucianism Studies and has exerted a positive and extensive influence in the international academic community.

A Global Forum on Confucian Studies (2005) and The Inauguration of the Center for Confucian Studies at Shandong University were held in Jinan on 16 September 2005. Famous scholars Ren Jiyu, Tu Weiming, Tang Yijie and Li Xueqin sent congratulatory messages. More than 100 experts and scholars from China, the United States, Japan and The Republic of Korea were present. Keynote speeches were delivered by Pang Pu, Zhong Zhaopeng, Kong Lingren, An Zuozhang, Chung-Ying Cheng, Mou Zhongjian, Chen Lai, Tong Yun Kai, Zhou Guidian, Nakajima Ryuzo, Yang Guorong, Wu Xiyuan and other famous scholars. This forum announced the establishment of The Inauguration of the Center for Confucian Studies at Shandong University, which is an entity dedicated to the study of Confucianism, and promoted the further development of Confucianism studies.

A Global Forum on Confucian Studies (2006): International Symposium of the Contemporary Value of Mencius’ Ideology was jointly organized by Shandong University and the People's Government of Zoucheng in Shandong Province, undertaken by the Center for Confucian Studies at Shandong University, held in Zoucheng, the homeland of Mencius on April 26, 2006. More than 100 scholars from China, the United States, Japan, South Korea and other countries attended the conference. Keynote speeches were delivered by Pang Pu, Zhong Zhaopeng, Ikeda Tomohisa, Tong Yun Kai, Meng Peiyuan, Annping Chin, Chen Lai, Guo Qiyong, Qian Xun and other famous scholars. This is the first large-scale symposium on Mencius held since the founding of the People's Republic of China, which is of positive significance for promoting the research of Mencius and the inheritance of Confucianism.

A Global Forum on Confucian Studies (2007 Cangshan•Linyi): International Symposium of the Contemporary Value of Xunzi’ s Ideology was jointly organized by Shandong University and the People's Government of Linyi in Shandong Province, undertaken by the Center for Confucian Studies at Shandong University, held in Linyi, Shandong Province on August 6-8, 2007. More than 100 scholars from China, the United States, Russia, Japan, South Korea and other countries attended the conference. Keynote speeches were delivered by Pang Pu, Jonathan D. Spence, Tu Weiming, Chung-Ying Cheng, Zhang Liwen, Chen Lai, Annping Chin and other famous scholars. This is the first large-scale international symposium on Xunzi's thought held since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is of great and far-reaching significance to discuss the contemporary value of Xunzi's thought to the construction of a harmonious socialist society, to further explore the modern value of traditional Chinese thoughts and to promote the progress of world civilization.

A Global Forum on Confucian Studies (2019): International Symposium on the Trend of Confucianism in the Past Century and International Conference on Mou Zongsan and the Development of Contemporary Confucianism to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the Birth of Mou Zongsan was organized by Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization and Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies at Shandong University, held in Yantai, Mou Zongsan's hometown, on July 13-14, 2019. More than 150 scholars from China, the United States, Egypt, Malaysia and the Republic of Korea attended the conference. Keynote speeches were delivered by Chung-Ying Cheng, ABD ELAZIZ HAMDI, Zhu Jiahua, Zhu Chien-Ming, Guo Qiyong, Zhang Xuezhi, Yang Cho-hon, Lee Ming-huei, Lin An-Wu and other famous scholars. This conference is the largest, the highest level and the most concentrated discussion with the theme of Mou Zongsan's thought, which plays a promoting role in the in-depth study of Mou Zongsan's academic thought and the development path and direction of Confucianism in the future.
