On the morning of April 13, the International Confucian Association held an expert forum on "Cultural Inheritance, Innovation and Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning in the Post-epidemic Era" at Shandong University. The signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation framework agreement and the unveiling ceremony of the research base between Shandong University and International Confucian Association were held at the same time. Liu Yandong, director of the International Confucian Association, Xu Xianming, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Former President of Shandong University, Yu Jie, Member of the CPC Shandong Province Committee and Minister of Publicity Department, Guo Xinli, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Shandong University, and Fan Liming, President of Shandong University attended the forum, and Guo Xinli hosted the meeting.
Jia Deyong, Secretary of the International Confucian Association, and Wang Qinlong, Executive Vice President of Shandong University, signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both sides. Fan Liming and Wang Nianning, vice president of the International Confucian Association, jointly unveiled the research base between Shandong University and the International Confucian Association. Zhang Yongbing, the Secretary of the CPC Committee of Shandong University hosted the ceremony.
At the forum, Professor Yan Binggang, Professor Huang Yushun, Professor Zeng Zhenyu and Professor He Zhonghua of Shandong University, Professor Lin Zhongjun of Shandong University, Professor Wei Jian of Shandong Normal University, Professor Tu Keguo of Shandong Academy of Social Sciences, and Confucian Civilization Cooperation Innovation Center Professor Qin Yanshi of Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization and others made speeches successively, focusing on cultural self-confidence and cultural innovation, the era issues of Confucian civilization development and the unique advantages of Chinese spirit and the inheritance and innovation of Chinese traditional culture.
After listening to experts’ speeches, Liu Yandong pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the inheritance of Chinese excellent traditional culture, and has given important instructions on many occasions to provide us with fundamental principles for the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional culture and the promotion of exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. We continue to explore the values and moral essence of traditional culture, deepen and expand cooperation with the International Confucian Association, strive to inherit and publicize China's 5000-year civilization, and do a good job in cultural inheritance innovation and civilization exchange and mutual learning, so as to play a role in promoting the construction of a community of human destiny. In recent years, Shandong University has made remarkable achievements in reform and development, and has made important contributions to the national and regional economic and social development. Shandong University should take root in Shandong province, practice the original intention of national education, and make unremitting efforts to build a world-class university that bears the responsibility of national rejuvenation.

Liu Yandong also visited the Shandong University Museum, Center For Research and Experience of Traditional Culture and Literature, History, and Philosophy Editorial Office, listened to the course in Nishan College, and communicated with teachers and students. Relevant responsible comrades from the International Confucian Association, the vice director of Publicity Department of Shandong Provincial Committee and members of the leading group of Shandong University attended the relevant activities.
In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speech of general secretary Xi Jinping on socialist cultural construction, and further play the advantages of academic and cultural resources of Shandong University and Qilu, the advantages of the NGO's non-governmental organizations, and better inherit the fine traditional culture and promote the different civilizations, the International Confucian Union and Shandong University jointly set up the research base of the International Confucian Association Shandong University. In cooperation with the one belt, one road is to build a new college, which is based on the nshan school, and is to recruit students from the traditional Chinese culture to cultivate the Chinese cultural talents in the field of international communication and cultural exchanges.

International Confucian Association and Shandong University will jointly establish the Research Base , and jointly build the Dongyue Academy. Based on the Nishan College, it will recruit undergraduates in the field of Chinese traditional culture from the world, especially the countries along the "the Belt and Road" to cultivate talents for external communication of Chinese culture and humanities exchange.
The International Confucian Association is an international academic and Cultural Organization (International Non-Governmental Organization). It was founded in 1994 by China, South Korea, Japan, the United States, Germany, Singapore, Vietnam and other countries, as well as academic groups related to Confucianism in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
