On June 29, the International Academic Conference on Liang Shu-ming’s Rural Reconstruction Theory and Contemporary Rural Revitalization was held in Jinan, Shandong Province. The conference was jointly organized by the Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies of Shandong University and the Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucianism Civilization at Shandong University. More than 80 scholars from the United States, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and China attended the conference.

Mr. Liang Shuming is a famous thinker, educator and social activist in modern China. He is also the representative of Confucianism. In the 1930s, Mr. Liang was engaged in theoretical research and practice of rural construction in Shandong Province for seven years, which had a great impact on China's rural construction movement. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Mr. Liang Shuming's death, the purpose of this meeting is to remember Mr. Liang's important contribution to the rural construction movement, analyze the advantages and disadvantages of his rural construction theory and practice, and explore the significance of his rural construction theory to the contemporary rural revitalization.

The theme of the conference is "Liang Shuming's rural construction theory and contemporary rural revitalization strategy". There are five sub topics: Liang Shuming's rural construction theory and practice, Liang Shuming's rural construction theory and Chinese rural construction movement, Liang Shuming's rural construction theory and Eastern and Western culture and its philosophy, Liang Shuming's rural construction theory and Contemporary Rural Revitalization Strategy, Liang Shuming and the rise of Contemporary Neo Confucianism.

In memory of the 30th anniversary of Mr. Liang Shuming's death, scholars attending the conference also took a bus to Zouping to pay homage to Mr. Liang Shuming's cemetery and attend the memorial hall of Mr. Liang Shuming on the afternoon of the 30th.

The conference lasted for two days, with two keynote speeches and six special forums, and more than 50 conference papers were received.
