The 11th International Motse and Luban Academic Seminar Held

From July 9 to 11, 2016, the 11th International Motse and Luban Academic Seminar was held in Tengzhou, Shandong Province. Ji Xiangqi, vice governor of Shandong Province, Li Shouxin, secretary of CPC Committee of Shandong University and President of Mozi Research Association of China, attended and addressed the meeting; Wang Yuxi, former vice governor of Shandong Province, also attended the meeting.

The theme of the seminar is "the creative transformation of Mohism and the revival of Chinese traditional culture". Experts and scholars at the seminar believe that the revival of Mohism plays an important role in the process of the rise of Chinese civilization. The theory of Motse must be transformed into the soil and source of the national spirit, and the essence must be absorbed in order to achieve creative development of Mohism, thus making the Mohism glow with new vitality.

Apart from the seminar, Mozi open class, Liuqin opera performance and other activities were also held. More than 120 experts and scholars from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and Korea, Japan and Belgium attended the seminar.

A meeting of the presidents of Mozi Research Association of China was held before the seminar, and the leading group of the association was adjusted. Professor Hu Jinyan, vice president of Shandong University, was elected as the executive vice president of Mozi Research Association of China, and Professor Du Zexun, vice dean of the Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, was elected as the vice president of Mozi Research Association of China.
